Blue-White Weekend: Events to Check Out

This coming weekend is one of the most anticipated events of the spring semester for Penn State alumni, football fans, and students: Blue-White Weekend. What may just be a football scrimmage to some, is practically a holiday of Penn State celebration to others.

While the football game at 2 p.m. in Beaver Stadium is certainly the main attraction, there are so many events, both athletic and otherwise, occurring this coming weekend. Try to get to as many as possible in order to have a Blue-White weekend you are sure to remember!

Friday

Penn State men’s baseball looks to continue their fantastic season on Friday evening against Northwestern in Illinois. Although the game will not be at the home field, fans can still tune into the radio to listen in on the game and to root for our Nittany Lions from afar!

Women’s tennis faces off against Northwestern at home today. The first match will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Sarni Tennis Complex on campus.

Women’s softball looks to continue their phenomenal season at home with a 6 p.m. faceoff against Maryland. Be sure to cap off your Friday evening with a fun ballgame!

Likewise, the overnight RV lot opens at 8 a.m. and is $60, cash only. Accompanying cars will be charged $20.

Saturday

The weather is holding, and it looks to be in the high 60s with plenty of sun!

Football tailgating will be starting early, as is typical of Penn Staters. The Beaver Stadium parking lots will open at 8 a.m. The team will arrive at Beaver Stadium at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Curtin and Porter Roads.

The coveted autograph session will be held from 11:15 – 12:05 p.m. at gates A, B, C, E, and F. Be sure to get there early to grab a squad poster to have the team autograph! While supplies last.

Kickoff for the Blue-White game will be at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to remember that Beaver Stadium strictly enforces its No Bag policy.

After the football game…

Men’s golf is holding their annual Rutherford Intercollegiate Invitational at the Penn State Blue Course Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday. If you want a dose of the Master’s close to home, look no further!

At 4 p.m., women’s softball, who is also having a phenomenal season, takes on Maryland at home. Be sure to stop by to cap off your day with a fun game of softball.

Sunday

Men’s golf continues with day two of their Rutherford Intercollegiate Invitational.

At 11 a.m., women’s tennis continues its weekend at home with matches against the University of Illinois, also held at the Sarni Tennis Complex.

Women’s softball rounds out its home series with a 1 p.m. game against Maryland.

One of the biggest games of the year, men’s lacrosse faces off against Johns Hopkins at 7 p.m. at home. Get there early to grab some goods seats – this game is sure to be a high-pressure, nail-biter of a competition!
